How we grade condition
Every appliance we list is a single unit that has been inspected, tested, graded and priced. There are three grades: new, open-box and used.
The three grades
- No prior use and no prior owner
- Model and serial number checked against the listing
- Manufacturer warranty where it applies (365 days on most GE models), plus our 90 days
Priced highest of the three.
- Often opened only to verify the model, or returned by a customer
- Scratches, dents and missing parts are noted in the listing
- Most GE units keep a 365-day manufacturer warranty; other brands get our 90-day warranty
Priced below new.
- Inspected, cleaned and tested, and repaired first if something is not working
- Any damage is documented in the listing
- Sold in its as-is cosmetic condition with our 90-day warranty
Priced lowest of the three.
What we test
Every unit goes through the same process, whatever its grade. If a unit does not pass, we repair it first, or we do not list it.
- Power-on test. Every unit is run before it is listed.
- Function check by type. Cooling for refrigerators and freezers, wash and spin cycles for washers, a dry cycle for dryers, and heat and ignition for ranges.
- Water connections and seals, where they apply.
- Visual inspection. Any damage is written into the listing before the unit goes live.
- Safety check of cords, plugs, glass and controls.
Each listing describes that one unit. When it sells, it is gone, which is why the listing details matter: they are the record of that exact appliance.

Condition questions
What does "used" mean at Kaady?
The appliance has been owned before. We inspect, clean and test it, and we repair it first if something is not working. Any damage we found is documented in the listing, and some normal wear is expected.
Is the warranty the same for every grade?
Every appliance has our 90-day warranty. Most GE open-box units add the manufacturer's 365-day warranty. See the warranty page.
Can I look at an appliance before I buy it?
Yes. Every listing is on our floor at 11917 SE Stark St. Call before you drive over for one specific unit.
